Our History

Modern Management Company (MMC) -International is a consultancy company formally incorporated in the year 2009 by a group of professionals from diverse backgrounds and with broad expertise, having an extensive and solid management and consulting experiences both locally and internationally. MMC-International has over 8 years of experience in a wide variety of areas, including

  • Good governance and public sector development,
  • Public finance management (PFM),
  • Natural resources management (NRM),

Since our inception, MMC has established a solid track record and successfully implemented over 25 projects in Somalia. As result, gaining extensive and proven expertise in development issues, as well as access to a qualified network of professionals (i.e. international and local specialists) and building strategic partnership with leading international consultancy firms for joint ventures.

Our Structure

Ultimate responsibility for the governance of the company rests with the Board of Directors. The members are leading personalities in the fields of business, politics and development cooperation. The tasks and responsibilities of the Board are to provide strategic advice and to control company operations.

The Board has formally delegated responsibility for MMC’s day-to-day operations and administration to the CEO and executive management team. MMC’s executive management team comprises the CEO, four technical service unit directors, and one support unit director. The CEO provides the leadership of the executive management team and the organization. Each of the company’s four technical department’s directors takes the lead for entire project cycles, from expressions of interest and bidding, to project implementation and administration. The Support Department of the company is bringing together MMC’s four internal support service units including Admin, Accounts, , HR and IT.

MMC has highly trained staff members who ensure that services are always provided in a reliable and professional way. Currently, the company has a personnel complement of 150 and is working on a retainer and/or freelance basis with numerous specialists, all of whom enjoy an excellent international reputation. Indeed, MMC’s main assets are its employees: their commitment, knowledge and multi-cultural experience allow the company to offer a comprehensive range of consulting services.
